DECEMBER came early at the Droitwich Morrisons branch after a technical glitch with the heating systems led to some shoppers going elsewhere to get their groceries.
Since shoppers had complained to the Standard that the supermarket is ‘freezing cold’, Morrisons head office has reported that the technical problem is now fixed.
One older man said that other pensioners who shopped there were struggling with the cold temperatures.
“I don’t blame the staff there as their hands are tied, but something needed to be done.
“In the end, we could not take it anymore and went to Lidl, which was packed and nice and warm.”
Another shopper told us: “Me and my mum were in there and also found it very cold.
“We go elsewhere now.”
A Morrisons spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, due to a technical problem with our heating system, temperatures in our Droitwich store have been on the chillier side.
“However, this has been fixed, and the heating is now back up and running.”
