A WYCHBOLD pub is set to close its doors today ahead of a £160,000 revamp to give it a new look.

The Crown, which recently welcomed a new general manager, prides itself on being a ‘traditional village pub’ and is dog friendly.

The venue is also ideally situated for a drink or meal before or after a walk round the nearby Stoke Prior Circuit or Hanbury Woods.

The Crown will reopen with a varied menu of pub favourites and will serve its usual breakfast offering for walk-in and pre-booked guests.

The venue also boasts a 15-room hotel and the new look is set to elevate the pub’s interior to suit all occasions, from casual lunches to special celebrations, plus an installation of a new darts board and updated pool table.

The pub is owned by Marston’s.

New general manager Keiran McAteer said, “We are so excited to announce that the Crown will be receiving a refresh, and that £160k has been invested into breathing new life into the pub.

“We’re very well-loved by the local community and can’t wait to welcome everybody back.”

The Crown closes for refurbishment on today and is scheduled to reopen on bank holiday Monday, May 29.
