THE THIRD raid in Droitwich in ten days was carried out this morning (Friday) as the police continue their crackdown on drugs in the town.

Offiers from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) smashed down the door of a property in Woodman’s Way at 7.30pm.

They were assisted by members of West Mercia’s elite Task Force and a drugs dog.

During the search small quantities of drugs were found.

A 34-year-old woman and 32-year-old man and their two children were present in the home. No arrests were made.

Sgt Sarah Kent from the SNT said: “Electronic devices have been seized from the address and will been examined for evidence of drug dealing.

“This investigation is still ongoing.

“We have a small but very motivated team here at Droitwich.

“This is the third drugs warrant we have carried out in ten days.

“I think this demonstrates our commitment to tackling this type of crime.

“We are finding that targeting drugs is also reducing demand other area of business such as anti social behaviour, violent crime and thefts.

“Therefore it is beneficial to both the police and the community.”

Anyone with any information on drug-dealing in Droitwich should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
