MORE than 4,000 Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Explorers plus 2,000 adult volunteers from across Hereford and Worcester will be attending this weekend’s Shirejam at the Malvern Three Counties showground.

The event runs from Friday to Sunday, July 5 to 7 and comes as the Scouting movement across the two counties has launched a new vision called #SkillsForLife which will celebrate and develop the programme the young people benefit from.

Young people will arrive on the Friday evening with an opening ceremony featuring live performers.

Over the next two days they will take part in a host of activities ranging from scuba diving, zorbing, creating craft, climbing to aeroplanes, rock climbing to reflection.

Robert Sidley, the County Commissioner for Scouts Hereford and Worcester, said: “The weekend promises to be an amazing event with a diverse representation of our two counties.”
