THREE cars and a lorry were involved in a crash last night on the northbound M5 between Junction 6 (Worcester) and Junction 5 (Droitwich).

The incident happened at 7.07pm and one of the cars ended up in the central reservation.

Three people who were in the cars suffered minor injuries, including a woman who sustained neck pain and a man who had an ankle injury.

They were discharged at the scene, along with two others who received precautionary checks.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Worcester and one from Droitwich attended. No one was trapped but the firefighters were called upon to make the vehicles safe.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said there was an ambulance, a paramedic officer and a Midlands Air Ambulance crew which came by car from Strensham sent to the scene.

The carriageway was closed while debris was cleared from the road.
