BURGLARS escaped with almost £1,500 worth of gardening tools after they targeted a wooden shed in Elmley Lovett.

It is believed the raiders removed the screws off the hinges of the shed door before they took a Honda petrol lawnmower worth £779, a £649 Honda rotavator and two garden rakes worth £20.

The incident took place sometime between 12.30pm on February 15 and 9.20am on February 17.

Sgt Sarah Kent said: “This is a good reminder for people who put a really good secure lock on their sheds but leave the hinges vulnerable and unprotected.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
