THE MP for Droitwich and Evesham has shared his delight in hosting a Visit England event in parliament to discuss the UK’s tourism sector.
Nigel Huddleston MP, the former minister for tourism, brought together industry leaders to discuss the importance of supporting and growing the sector.
The event, which comes ahead of British Tourism Week (14–23 March), showcased the work of Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs) from across England’s regions.
Representatives from regional tourism boards and industry leaders discussed how local areas are working collaboratively to strengthen their visitor economies and enhance their unique tourism and cultural offerings.
Nigel Huddleston said: “As a former Tourism Minister I have always championed British tourism, and it was fantastic to welcome Visit England and representatives from across the country to Parliament.
“The tourism sector is at the heart of our economy, attracting visitors, supporting businesses, and showcasing the very best of our regions.
“I am also proud of the wonderful tourist attractions in my own constituency, from the historic spa heritage of Droitwich to the beautiful countryside and cultural sites in and around Evesham.
“It’s a reminder that tourism benefits not just big cities but also our towns, villages, and rural communities.”
The MP finished by sharing how great It was to see so many familiar faces and discuss ways to promote and grow the industry.
