A SILVER salver in memory of Steve Moore, the late chairman and long-serving member of Droitwich Royal British Legion, has been presented to the organisation by the town’s Rotary Club.
As the Spa British Legion branch went through some difficult times, with resignations form committees, loss of members and loss of the Legion Hall, Steve held it together.
Sandy Laird, from the Rotary Club of Droitwich Spa, said: “Steve’s organisation of the Remembrance Day parade, with the help of other members, was meticulous.”
And Mr Laird described him as a ‘remarkable man, strong leader and manager’.
In his working life, Steve worked as a dustman for the council and was very well known and respected around Droitwich.
Mel Bates, the President of the Rotary club presented the salver to Hazel Gandy, the Chairman of the Droitwich British Legion in front of Steve’s widow Maria Moore, his daughter Sarah Moore, Tom Pedlow, the vice chairman of the Droitwich branch of the British Legion and June Sankey.
