TRAVEL ALERT - Roads closed in Droitwich and Worcestershire due to flooding

DRIVERS are being warned to take care today as many roads across Droitwich are flooded, some impassable.

Driving through floodwaters can lead to vehicles and motorists becoming stranded and severe damage to cars and vans.

It is difficult to ascertain how deep floodwater is lying on the roads before entering.

Droitwich and the surrounding areas

The A449 is closed between Ombersley and Claines due to flooding.

The Saltway in Droitwich is impassable due to flooding.

The A38 between Upton Warren and Wychbold is flooded.




Weston Hall Road, Shaw Lane, Hanbury Road – near Harris Business Park – all in Stoke Prior and Stoke Heath – are flooded.

There have been reports of Forest Lane by the Jinney Ring Craft Centre being flooded to Elcocks Brook – the stretch is marginally passable.


School closure

Himbleton First School is shut for the rest of the day due to severe flooding in the local area making travel to and from school unsafe.

Other areas in Worcestershire

Elsewhere, we have received reports of the A38, near Morrisons in Bromsgrove, is shut for safety reasons.

Yew Tree Lane, Frankley, Woodpecker Close, Alvechurch, Alcester Road, Lickey End, and  closed due to flooding is closed due to flooding.

According to Traffic Bromsgrove, Berry Lane, Bungay Lake Lane, Timberhonger Lane, Swan Lane, Cooksey Green Lane, Crown Lane and Crutch Lane are all impassable due to flooding.

Floods have been reported on Stoney Lane at the junction of Whalf Lane, Tutnall – the road is impassable, as is Berry Lane.

There are large amounts of floodwater on the A448 between Dodford and Chaddesley Corbett.

Perryfields Road near the new estate is flooded on the sharp bend and Charford Road is unpassable.
