A TRUST worker says a ward at the Alexandra Hospital has been closed to all visitors because ‘every patient on the ward is COVID-19 positive’.
The employee said walking into work yesterday opened her eyes to how quickly the virus is spreading.
“To find out my ward was closed as every patient there has tested positive really was heartbreaking,” said the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust worker.
“Family members were crying to me saying they may never see their loved ones again.
“We all need to take this more serious. We’re staying at work for you, so please stay at home for us.
“We have a great team but we all just need to stick together.”
The Standard has contacted Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust for comment.
A statement is expected to be issued later today.
