A TALENTED 12-year-old Droitwich Spa High School pupil won four titles at the renowned global BDO World Streetdance Championships.
Kaidan-Zakery Hunter, who is also known as ‘KZ’, won the ‘solo’, ‘crew’ and ‘duo’ titles in the under 14s and the ‘quad’ in the under 18s.
He said he was ‘super proud’ of his achievements, adding: “This came as shock to me, resulting in me being very overwhelmed and ecstatic, followed by receiving an extreme confidence boost.
“The competition was very intense with incredibly talented people all around.”
The BDO World Streetdance Championships is a global competition for those 18 and under.
Kaidan started street dance when he was three years old to hopefully overcome his anxiety.
Kaidan’s mum Vicky said: “He suffered so severely with anxiety, but when you see him dance, you would not know what’s happening behind the scenes.
“It feels great we have found a place for him.”
Kaidan has also earned a year-long scholarship at London’s prestigious Pineapple Dance Studios.
KZ is not the only family member to triumph – his nine-year-old sister Kailee, who attends Westacre Middle School, won an award in the ‘crew’ and ‘quad’ categories and reached the under 10s semi-finals in the ‘solo’ category.
Vicky added her children’s success has not ‘quite hit her yet’.
The pair’s performances at the British Championships helped their Beat Breakerz School Of Dance group qualify for the World Championship.
Beat Breakerz’ teacher Amie Harris said she was amazed by her students’ achievements.
“I feel like a mother to them all.
“The work ethic of my pupils, I just can’t fault it”
