Two men have died in Ombersley crash

TWO MEN have died after a crash in Ombersley around 9.30pm last night.

The two cars collided on the Worcester-bound A449, near the Ombersley junction.

The investigation is ongoing but officers believe one of the cars, a white Ford Mondeo, was travelling in the wrong direction and will have joined the A449 after taking the incorrect slip road, colliding with an oncoming car, a black Vauxhall Astra.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended the scene.

When crews reached the scene both the men were in a critical condition.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Unfortunately, it immediately became apparent that nothing more could be done to save them and they were confirmed deceased at the scene.”

A West Mercia Police spokesperson appealed for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to contact investigating officers on 101.

“Our thoughts are with both families of the victims at what will be terribly sad time for everyone and next of kin of both victims have been notified.”
