A PERSON who suffered serious injuries in a crash on the M5 this evening has been taken to hospital by air ambulance.
The collision, involving a number of vehicles, happened around 5.30pm this evening.
Both carriageways were initially shut between Junction 5 (Droitwich) and Junction 6 (Worcester) to enable the Midlands Air Ambulance to land. West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service are also at the scene.
The northbound carriageway has since been reopened.
There were delays of more than an hour on the southbound carriageway which finally reopened around 11.30pm after West Mercia Police finished gathering evidence for their investigation.
