DROITWICH’S French twinning group hosted 30 guests from Voiron earlier this month.
The two twinned towns have formed a strong bond by visiting each other over the past 12 years.
The guests gathered at Hampton Lovett village hall for a reception, which was opened by then-Mayor Coun George Duffy and Voiron Mayor Roland Revil.
The two groups also took a coach trip to Oxford and enjoyed country dancing with live music as well as a farewell dinner at Droitwich golf club.
And the guests also visited the Droitwich Spa Lido, where the French guests were amused to find cold water swimmers in temperatures of just 13 degrees.
Suzi Wood from Friends of Droitwich Lido said it was a privilege to welcome French Twinners and added they were ‘very impressed.’
