WYCHAVON residents can volunteer to become members of advisory panels who will have the chance to influence the council’s decision making.
Volunteers are being sought to become members of the three advisory panels which include communities and funding, rural matters and town centres.
The three panels will meet with Wychavon District Council to play a key role in advising the council’s decision-making executive board on a range of issues from tourism, town centre planning, transport and funding community projects.
The volunteering opportunity is aimed at people who can think strategically, have knowledge of the issues involved, have the time to commit to meetings and activities and most importantly those who have a connection with Wychavon.
Coun Bradley Thomas, leader of Wychavon District Council, said: “This is a great opportunity to “directly influence our work and decision-making by working alongside officers offering “constructive challenge, support and fresh ideas.”
The places on the advisory panels are open to anyone aged 18 and over and will see volunteers meet around six times a year.
Successful candidates will be appointed from late June 2023 until May 31, 2025 and receive travel expenses and training.
Existing Wychavon district councillors and staff cannot apply and parish and town councillors or staff will only be considered if they provide additional experience beyond their current role.
Visit: www.wychavon.gov.uk/panels or call 01386 565 517 to apply. Deadline for applications is 5pm on June 5.
