Volunteers sought for new 'Friends of Droitwich Spa Railway Station' group

Droitwich Editorial 26th Feb, 2021   0

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to be part of a new ‘Friends of Droitwich Spa Railway Station’ group.

The organisation will work with the Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership, West Midlands Trains and interested partners to improve the station as a gateway for visitors to the town, enhance the station’s heritage and to input into the county council’s master plan on issues such as parking and refurbishment.

There will also be opportunities for volunteering at the station and to work with West Midlands Trains on developing services at the station.

Anyone interested should email Richard Morris at [email protected] and visit https://wcrp.org.uk/droitwich-spa-station/ for more information.

Support will be provided by Droitwich Spa Town Council through the community and amenities committee.

Further support will come from Worcestershire County, Wychavon District and Droitwich Town Councils and it will be integral to the town centre regeneration plan and other schemes.

When interested parties have got in touch, Coun Morris will set up a virtual meeting to get the wheels turning.
