Warning after vulnerable person in Droitwich is targeted by phone scammer

Droitwich Editorial 18th Sep, 2018   0

A WARNING has gone out to residents after a vulnerable person in Hampton Lovett who was targeted by fraudsters.

The person was called on Sunday by someone who said his name was ‘Frank’ from Lloyds Bank who was ringing with details of a refund for items bought by the victim.

He asked for bank details, tried to arrange a visit to the victim’s home and warned them about not telling anyone else about the call.

Residents are being urged to trust their instincts if they get a call like this and report it to the police on 101 or Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.

Bank details or PINs should never be given over the phone to cold-callers.
