Warning over Ombersley roadworks

Droitwich Editorial 26th Feb, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016

DRIVERS are reminded that roadworks on the A449 in Ombersley will be continuing for another five days and nights.

The maintenance began on Monday (February 23) on both the north and southbound dual carriageways between Ombersley Bridge and where it becomes a single carriageway at Hartlebury.

It is being carried out in sections which will lead to lane closures on either side.

And, for the safety of the workforce, there will be a convoy system between 9.30am and 3.30pm and from 7.30pm to 6am to manage the traffic.

A Worcestershire County Council spokesperson apologised for the disruption and said it was routine but essential maintenance.

He suggested motorists may like to find alternative routes.
