SOUTH Worcestershire residents are being warned to take care of their valuables after two burglaries over the weekend and on Monday morning.
The first was reported to police around 11.20pm on Sunday after a house in Fernhill Heath was broken into and cash was stolen .
The second happened sometime before 12.30am on Monday when a property in the Arboretum area of Worcester was broken into and a large quantity of gold jewellery was taken.
Det Insp Dave Knight said: “It is not uncommon for offenders who commit this type of crime to visit the location of properties beforehand and then return sometime later to carry out the theft.”
He urged people to be on their guard and to report any suspicious behaviour in their areas.
“It is extremely important that when you are not wearing your jewellery you keep it in a safe location, ideally a locked safe or locked drawer, and to keep your home as secure as possible.”
Anyone with information about either incidents or anyone who captured CCTV or dash-cam footage which could help with the investigation should visit westmercia.police.uk/report or call 101.
