Warning to shoppers after woman has purse stolen in Droitwich town centre distraction theft

SHOPPERS are being warned to be on their guard after a woman had her purse stolen during a distraction theft in Droitwich town centre.

It happened between 1.50pm and 2.20pm on Friday.

The victim believes she was distracted by a man who was 5ft 10ins tall and had stubble, asking about sugar content in a drink. It was then the theft took place.

People are being urged to keep their bags close to them when they are shopping, they should be fastened and shoppers need to be aware who is around them, particularly if they seem uncomfortably close.




Witnesses or anyone with any information on Friday’s theft should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
