CHILDREN and staff at Westacre Middle School are delighted following a two-day Ofsted inspection.
The inspection report highlighted that the school continues to be rated ‘Good’ and pupils speak with enthusiasm about many aspects the school has.
It read that leader had created an ambitious curriculum, ‘aspirational’ for all and prepared pupils well for the next stages of their education.
Inspectors noted that relationships between staff and pupils are very positive, and the staff are ‘unanimously proud’ of their school.
In the report, there were some improvements needed, such as not all strategies are used to support pupils who are at the early stages of learning – this was described as a ‘hinder’ to helping pupils become more fluent readers.
Donna Evans, Headteacher, said: “Our children are a real credit to our school, and we are pleased that their exemplary behaviour and enthusiasm for school life and learning were recognised during the inspection.
