PUPILS from year four at Westlands First School were given a day out at Drayton Manor Theme Park.
The Droitwich-based Saltway Rotary Club, a satellite of the Lickey Hills Rotary Club organised through the organisation’s Kids Out charity.
As well as all the rides, the children also visited the Drayton Manor Zoo which coincided with their recent classroom activities on Rainforest animals and they were able to see the kind of creatures they had been studying for real.
Back at school the children did a lot of follow-up work and every child sent a personal letter of thanks to members of the Saltway club.
Roatarian Stuart Beardsall, who accompanied the group to Drayton Manor, was full of praise for their behaviour.
“They took nothing for granted and were very appreciative of all we and their very well-prepared staff had provided.
“It was a real pleasure to see their pleasure.”
