Westmead residents do part in Breast Cancer Awareness Month

RESIDENTS at Westmead Care Home have done their part for Breast Cancer Awareness Month holding a strictly pink fund-raiser.

The event turned the home into a sea of pink last Friday (October 24) raising £52 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

Residents and the team raided their wardrobes for all shades of fuchsia in return for donations and enjoyed some mouth-watering themed cupcakes and a raffle which saw a vase of stunning pink Dahlias was up for grabs.

The day was held in support of Strictly Worcestershire 2015, a charity dance event taking place in May next year – that will also be held in aid of the two causes.

Home manager Sue Stokes said: “We all know somebody who has suffered from breast cancer, so were thrilled to do our bit to support such great causes.”
