THE FINAL figures relating to how much council tax Droitwich residents will pay for the 2015/16 financial year have been revealed.
The bill for the average band D home will be £1,494.88-a-year.
Of that, £152.71 will go towards Wychavon District Council, then the largest part – £1,079.77 – will go to Worcestershire County Council. West Mercia Police will receive £185.90 and £76.50 will go to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.
Wychavon District Council increased its precept by 1.99 per cent, the county council’s rose by 1.9 per cent, the police’s increased by 1.99 per cent and the fire and rescue service’s has gone up by 1.91 per cent.
As the amount is paid over ten months of the year – from April to January – the average monthly amount a council taxpayer in a band D home will pay is £149.48.
Overall, throughout the district, council tax will generate £49,544,444 for Worcestershire County Council, £5,231,163 for Wychavon District Council, including special expenses, £8,530,086 for West Mercia Police and £3,509,993 for Hereford and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Service.
There will also be £289,881 for Droitwich Town Council and £1,887,780 will be split between more than 70 parish councils across the district.
