RESIDENTS are being urged to Go Bright For Sight and and take part in a quirky sponsored walk at Droitwich’s Lido Park which will see them transformed.

The Global Colour Run craze will be coming to the Spa venue at 10am on July 4 and challenges participants to walk or run 5km to raise funds for Sight Concern.

At the start, everyone wears white, but en route to the finish they will pass through five paint stations and by the end, they are multi-coloured.

Fiona Blake, the fund-raising manager for Sight Concern, said thanked sponsors First Solution and Novus Solutions for their backing.

And she added: “Everyone in the town has made us feel so welcome and it’s exciting for Sight Concern to be part of the Droitwich Summer Festival.

“This really is a multi-coloured jamboree and we’re delighted that so many people are showing their support.”

The day will start with a 20-minute warm-up session provided by Rivers.

The Go Bright For Sight Colour Run is open to all ages. Anyone with a visual impairment will be particularly welcome and the charity will aim to match them with a sighted guide.

Entry, which includes the cost of the paint stations, entertainment and a pair of neon sunglasses, is £10 for adults, £7 for children, students for £8 and £29 for a family ticket. Each participant is also asked to raise a minimum of £15 in sponsorship.
