Witton Middle School's SATS results are the best in its history

PUPILS from Witton Middle have put themselves in the history books after achieving the best SATS results the school has ever seen.

Year six students have made their parents and teachers proud in their reading, writing and maths exams scoring way above the national average.

The national expectation for the improvement of level four marks is between one and three per cent – this year the school has managed to achieve an improvement level of between three and seven per cent.

For level five the standard is between one and five per cent but Witton Middle School is pleased to announce its is from seven and 16 per cent.




In reading, 94 per cent of pupils obtained level four with 50 per achieving level five.

A total of 87 per cent was given level four grading and 37 per cent level five in writing.


In addition, in maths, 85 per cent was awarded level four while 41 per cent achieved level five.

The amount of students obtaining level six in maths also rose by four per cent.

Headteacher Cath Crossley said all in all it was an excellent crop of results.

“I am really pleased with our progress.

“Thanks to the hard work of the students and staff we have achieved this amazing improvement,” she added,
