MEMBERS of Witton WI challenged their members to collect more than 100 bras to donate to a Worcestershire Council scheme which raises funds for a county breast cancer unit.
The women rose to the challenge and amassed 136 which saw donations made to the Worcester Royal Hospital’s Breast Cancer Unit Haven.
It was a marked improvement on the members’ first efforts where they managed to collect 84.
The bras were then delivered to collection point at Inspire by Rachel Beauty Clinic on Droitwich High Street.
Rachel Harrison from the clinic said: “Most women have at least six bras on average in their drawer but only really wear two of them, so please consider donating these bras – whatever their condition – as they will be repurposed or recycled and raise vital funds for our local breast unit.”
