A DROITWICH woman has been charged with distraction burglaries on two elderly women.
The 31-year-old is set to appear in court today (Wednesday) where a remand to prison has been requested by the police.
The first burglary was on June 12 where the woman approached a property in Vines Mews, asking for help.
The occupier allowed her to use her telephone and whilst in the property she stole a purse.
The second burglary was committed on June 19 in Ploughman’s Walk and on this occasion she again asked for help in order to gain access to the property and stole a purse.
Both victims were elderly.
Sgt Sarah Kent of Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “These are, thankfully, quite a rare type of offence but please make sure you remind elderly friends and relatives to be vigilant.”
