Woman dies in Droitwich house fire

A WOMAN has died in a house fire in Droitwich last night.

The emergency services were called to the blaze at 9pm on Meadow Court.

The fire broke out on the first floor of a terraced house and one person was reported missing.

The crews entered the property and rescued a 37-year-old from a bedroom.




West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor to the scene.

She was in a critical condition and paramedics began administering advanced life support but despite their best efforts nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.


Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s specialist fire investigation officers are at the scene and are working to establish what caused the blaze.

Officers from West Mercia Police also attended.

A force spokesperson said: “We are now working with the fire service as we carry out investigations to establish the cause of the fire.”
