Woman in her 80s dies after being hit by a car in Hanbury

A WOMAN in her 80s has died after being hit by a car in Hanbury.

It happened around 8.15am yesterday on School Road.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended

“On arrival, we discovered one patient, an elderly woman, who was the pedestrian, in a critical condition.




“Unfortunately, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

The driver of the car, a man, had minor injuries and was discharged on scene.


The woman’s next of kin have been informed.

PC Ian Sweeney said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died in this tragic incident.”

He appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with dash cam footage to call police on 101 or via the website westmercia.police.uk
