Worcestershire choirs joining voices to support a very worthwhile cause

GOT 2 Sing choirs from across Worcestershire choirs to perform a special celebratory concert at Symphony Hall in Birmingham.

Fourteen Got 2 Sing choirs in total will be uniting to deliver two performances on Sunday, September 4, supporting the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven charity (WBUH).

It will be the choir’s fifth concert there. At their last concert at Symphony Hall in 2019, the choir raised more than £8,000 for charity and they’re hoping this year to at least match that sum.

Cassie Gardner, choir leader for Got 2 Sing Redditch, said: “Our members cannot wait to be back on stage singing together.

“This Symphony Hall concert also presents a wonderful fundraising opportunity.”

Lexi Craigie, charity director of Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven, added: “Got 2 Sing Choir is very special to our charity because some of its members have been patients here at the Breast Unit.

“The Symphony Hall venue is also special – a suitable place to support Worcestershire’s only breast cancer charity.

“We hope that as well as fundraising to support women and men with breast cancer in Worcestershire, we can also help remind everyone of the work we do – breast cancer affects one in 7 women – and the importance of checking their breasts. A huge thank you to Got2Sing for their support of our charity, it is greatly appreciated.”

A full programme of contemporary and classic songs has been learned and hundreds of moves mastered in rehearsals.

Cassie added: “If it is anything like our last performance at Symphony Hall it will be a wonderful concert.

“So much hard work has been put in all round and it has been a delight working with Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. I’m certain it will be a resounding success!”

Tickets are available at: bmusic.co.uk. Further details can also be found at www.got2sing.co.uk.

For anyone wishing to join Redditch’s new term starts on Wednesday, September 14 from 7.30am to 9pm at Winyates Green Community Centre, Furze Lane, Redditch B98 0SE
