SEVERAL hospices across the county have received grants totaling £6,000 from the Worcestershire Freemasons.

The cash was awarded through the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) to the Primrose, St Richard’s, Acorns Children’s, Kemp and the Mary Stevens hospices.

In total, around the UK, £600,000 was given through 227 grants to hospices by the fund-raising group.

The MCF is partnering with Hospice UK to re-imagine day hospice services.

Robert Vaughan, Head of Freemasonry in Worcestershire, said: “I’m very pleased we’ve been able to assist our local hospices.

“They do an outstanding job helping people with terminal or life limiting conditions, as well as supporting their families through very difficult and challenging times.”
