WORCESTERSHIRE’S largest careers event for young people returns to the Chateau Impney Hotel in Droitwich between 3.30pm and 7pm on Wednesday, March 4.

The Worcestershire Skills Show offers plenty of opportunities for future careers and last year more than 5,000 attended.

At the show there were 80 employers showcasing the variety of chances on offer in science, technology, engineering, maths, hospitality, advertising, marketing, professional services, public services, the legal profession and more.

There are ‘have a go’ practical activities to demonstrate the different roles and jobs available and provides the perfect opportunity for employers to think about the skills and qualifications they are looking for from applicants.

Young people and their parents can ask questions they feel they need to for a better understanding of career pathways available.

Coun Marcus Hart, Worcestershire County Council’s cabinet member with the responsibility for education and skills, said the event continued to go from strength-to-strength.

“It’s a real positive showcase of all the opportunities available for careers in our county, and of why Worcestershire is such a great place to live, work and learn.”

Gary Woodman, Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership chief executive, said: “This year we are seeing fantastic support from the business community and we are welcoming more students and exhibitors than ever before – there is even going to be a companion mobile app for the first time.”

The app will provide a breakdown of activities at the show and where to find them via an interactive Skills Maze map.
