WYCHAVON has flushed away the competition as they cleaned up at the Loo of the Year awards.
Judges praised the district’s public toilets for their design, cleanliness and facilities on offer to people with a range of disabilities.
This resulted in the local loos being crowned the best local authority toilets in the UK.
In addition, judges awarded Diamond status – the highest available – to nine of Wychavon’s loos.
This all means the district now occupies the top spot in the Loo of the Year Premier League while also giving it ‘Champions League Standards of Excellence’ status.
And there was also success for Wychavon’s toilet cleaning contractor Mitie, who won this year’s overall Loo of the Year title.
Wychavon councils executive board member for resident and customer Services, Coun Emma Stokes said: “I’m delighted judges recognised the excellent design of our toilets, how well equipped they were and the high standard of cleanliness.
“I’m particularly pleased the work we have done to improve access to facilities for people with disabilities has been recognised.”
