Wychbold youngster Hugh to read all Mr Men books in one day to raise charity funds

Droitwich Editorial 16th Apr, 2020 Updated: 16th Apr, 2020   0

A YOUNG bookworm from Wychbold will be reading all 50 Mr Men books in one day to raise funds for charity.

Hugh Brogan, five, will become Mr Readalot on May 3 in aid of the Ronald McDonald House.

The charity provides accommodation for families near hospitals where their children are being treated.

One of the blocks is near Birmingham Children’s Hospital which offers treatment to poorly youngsters from all over the country.

Hugh said: “Whilst I have been off school I have been thinking of a challenge I could do to raise money for charity.

“I know that things are bad now because of coronavirus and I wanted to do something to help.

“Because McDonald’s is closed at the moment the charity is not getting a lot of money but, it still needs help to pay for families to stay with their poorly children.”

Hugh will be filmed reading some stories and people can also help him choose which order he reads them in by getting in touch.
