FANS of the Big Mac and other McDonald’s food can now go to the Drive-Thru in Wychbold which reopened its doors this morning.
The restaurant is one of many now open for Drive-Thru and McDelivery with new social distancing measures in place to help keep employees and customers safe.
It follows a successful pilot by the fast food giant last month.
The company said with restaurant teams adjusting to new procedures to enable safe working and social distancing, things may take a little longer and high demand is anticipated.
When the Redditch Drive-Thru reopened yesterday long queues were reported in the area.
McDonald’s and its franchisees has worked closely with local authorities and the police, and may determine that it is necessary to close Drive Thru lanes if queues cause disruption at busier sites or put employees or customers at risk.
Among the changes the chain has brought in are social distancing in kitchens and service areas, perspex screens at Drive-Thru windows and protective equipment for employees.
There are also perspex screens and floor markings in specific areas of the restaurant and kitchen.
All McDonald’s employees will be asked to confirm they are fit and able to work and contactless thermometers will be used to take employee temperatures on arrival at work for every shift.
Delivery procedures and transactions will be contactless and the restaurants have smaller teams, offering a limited menu and operating reduced hours.
