Young and old come together for Easter fun as Droitwich nursery and dementia group spend time together

YOUNG and old had an egg-cellent time when children from Droitwich’s Mini Explorers Nature Nursery and members of Age UK’s Dementia Group took part in themed activities and games together.

They undertook an egg hunt, chocolate egg and spoon races, Easter crafts while they enjoyed each other’s company.

All the children at Droitwich’s only outdoor nursery went home with new friends and memories that will last a lifetime.

Billy, three, said: “Bill is my new best friend.

“He read me a book and gave me a bag.”

All the Dementia Group members had been busy all week making and colouring in Easter bags to give each child and making Easter cakes.

The children had also been busy making rice crispy Easter cakes on the open fire down in the woods and enjoyed sharing them with their new friends.

Mini Explorers Nursery owner Gemma Saddington said: “It was truly magnificent and heartwarming to see all the generations together, having fun.

“It is hugely beneficial to everyone involved.

“We look forward to joining the group again soon.”

The Mini Explorers Nature Nursery has places available for children aged two and upwards for September.

The Age UK Dementia group meets at Droitwich Rugby Club from Wednesday to Friday each week and is always looking for new members.
