YOUNG Firefighters from Redditch and Droitwich showcased their newly acquired skills after 13 weeks of training on Saturday (May 7) during a passing out parade at Droitwich Fire station.

Family and friends, fire service personnel and local dignitaries gathered to observe the new teenage recruits as they carried out firefighting demonstrations.

Coun Anne Hingley, chair of the YFA Executive Committee, and Assistant Chief Fire Officer John Hodges attended the ceremony, presenting each new recruit with a certificate of achievement.

Mr Hodges congratulated the new recruits for ‘demonstrating such commitment and enthusiasm’.

“The annual pass out parade is always a pleasure to attend and a significant event that recognises the hard work the new recruits and their instructors have put in over the last 13 weeks,” he added.
