Youngsters 'Try' Rugbytots sessions in Droitwich

Droitwich Editorial 4th May, 2022   0

WORLD renowned rugby-based infants skills programme ‘Rugbytots’ came to Droitwich for the first time at Witton Middle School on Saturday.

Parents could join in with their children on the school hall and sports fields, where activities included passing skills, try scoring, parachute games and an obstacle course.

Each week, more than 75,000 children take part in the rugby-based play programme which is aimed at developing the skills and confidence of youngsters aged between two and seven.

Coaches are fully trained and DBS approved and deliver structured sessions and fun games while also helping little ones to identify colours, numbers, shapes and animals.

The Droitwich classes run on Sunday mornings, with new sessions coming to Bromsgrove and Redditch soon.

Midweek sessions in local schools and nurseries will be starting from September.

Hywel, whose two-year-old took part, said: “This was our first Rugbytots session together and we both had a really fun time.

“It was nice for the parents to be able to get stuck in with the kids during some of the activities.”
