UP-AND-COMING Droitwich bakers are being urged to enter a competition to showcase their culinary talents.

The Droitwich Spa Festival Junior Bake-Off challenges young people to either make one large cake or a batch of two smaller ones.

There will be two judging categories – one for five to nine-year-olds and another for those from ten to 15.

Entry is free and the cakes will be judged on appearance, taste and creativity.

Among the judges will be representatives from sponsors Andrew Grant, Lloyds Bank in Droitwich and the town’s Muffin Break.

The winners will be announced at 2pm on the day of afternoon of the Droitwich Festival with the winners receiving a prize donated by Andrew Grant.

Entries need to be delivered to The Junior Bake-Off stand in St Andrews Shopping Centre precinct by 11am at the latest on Saturday (June 21).

An entry coupon will be printed closer to the entry date in the Droitwich Standard.
