Your guide to what's going on at Droitwich's Salt Fest this weekend

AS WELL as the official salt launch at this weekend’s Droitwich’s Salt Fest this weekend, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of different activities.

Tomorrow St Augustine’s Church bells will ring at 10am to mark the grand opening in Vines Park with Chairman of Wychavon District Council, Coun Liz Eyre and Mayor Coun Shaun Best, followed by a performance by the Droitwich Air Cadets Band.

A town walk from 11am to 2pm will teach people about the town’s fascinating history for £2, booking is essential.

Live children’s entertainment by Wren Arts will be from 10.30am where children can enjoy Giant Bubbles, Merlin the Wizard and Knight on stilts.




Live Music in the Marquee will feature a wealth of Droitwich talent, including performances from the town’s Air Cadets, Ingrid’s Accordion Group and a special surprise guest appearance.

Fun for youngsters will include an inflatable slide, face painting, circus skills and arts workshops and there will also be ferret racing, local foods and ice cream and a real ale and cider bar.


From 11am on the Sunday, the marquee will see more Droitwich talent take to the stage, including the Salvation Army Band, a Choir for a Community Service, Carly Dee’s acoustic session and the Rock Choir. A dog show and canal boat trips will also run, as well as the popular duck race at 4.15pm on the River Salwarpe.
