DROITWICH AC will be hosting its annual half marathon in March and is urging runners to get involved.
The event, on March 4, is open to all those aged over 17 who are up for the challenging 13.1-mile course around the beautiful countryside surrounding the Spa.
The scenic and undulating route takes runners around the quiet country lanes of Droitwich, Salwarpe, Ladywood, Hadley, Porters Mill and Fernhill Heath before returning via Porters Mill and Ladywood to finish at the High School athletics track.
Plenty of parking, changing facilities and refreshments are available courtesy of the event’s sponsors.
Once again Rivers Leisure is on board as the primary sponsor providing goody bags and facilities for all competitors on the day.
Marketing manager Sharon Keen said: “Rivers Leisure are proud to sponsor the Droitwich half marathon again this year.
“It is a great local event for runners who like a challenge whilst running through the pleasant market town of Droitwich Spa and surrounding countryside.”
SME Solicitors, Worcester, and franchised Jaguar dealer LISTERS based in Droitwich are also providing support for the event and will be present on the day.
Waitrose Droitwich will also be supplying runners with drinks and snacks before, during and after the race.
A pre and post massage courtesy of AG Injury and Rehabilitation will also be on offer.
All finishers will receive a medal and a training tech shirt.
Race director Martin Smith said: “Droitwich AC is proud to host this annual event.
“We attract runners from all over neighbouring counties and the popularity for this event is growing especially as many schedule our event in their training calendars for various marathons many due to its timing in the racing calendar for London or Manchester.”
Limited spaces are available and entries close on February 28.
