DROITWICH Amateur Boxing Club packed a punch with their first home show for more than two years at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club.
A packed card featured 12 bouts which included boxers from Droitwich, Kidderminster and Stourport.
The show included three skills bouts as promising fighters John Dunne, Theo Perry and Rhys McGinley showcased their potential.
And the rest of the card also saw nine competitive bouts take place, all overseen by England Boxing officials.
Droitwich won five of the nine bouts with each contest closely fought.
Home boxers George Howard, Harry Yeomans, Harry Press, Ellis Furnival, Leo Jones, Meme Hobday, Tom Dunne, Mason Jones and Danny Jones represented Droitwich at the home show.
And Furnival also featured in the ’bout of the night’ as he entertained the crowd with a standout performance in just his fourth fight.
Droitwich coaches Billy Jones, Michael ‘Bulla’ Pardoe and Ikey Hall all worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event was a success.
Team members Russ Howard, Ann Hiles, Michelle Beddoes and Nikki Furnival also played their part in helping to stage a successful home show.
Coaches Jones and Pardoe now lead the charge in inspiring and developing the next generation of Droitwich talent.
The duo look to continue the legacy established by Chris Andrews who coached both Jones and Pardoe during their careers as boxers.
