SIAN O’Toole feels fitter and stronger than ever ahead of her sixth professional fight next weekend.
The BBBofC Midlands Area featherweight champion returns to the ring at the Eastside Rooms in Birmingham against an unknown opponent on Saturday, August 17.
And the Droitwich fighter, who boasts a 5-0 record in the professional ranks, is looking forward to her sixth bout in less than a year.
O’Toole said: “I’m really excited for it, I’m having my sixth fight in under a year, it’s been unbelievably crazy busy.
“We were in talks about a commonwealth title fight recently but the current champion decided it wasn’t for her at this time which is a little bit frustrating.
“I just want to keep building, I’m feeling stronger and fitter than ever, I’ve got a nutritionist on board, I’m on a high at the moment.”
O’Toole has already claimed a Midlands Area title and believes more opportunities will come her way in the future as she continues to test herself against better fighters.
O’Toole added: “We’re trying to fight opponents who are better than the fight before. I want to prove myself at the top level.
“My shots are a lot more precise now and I’m hitting harder. It’s about timing my shots to the head and body.
“I also have a crisp jab, it’s about not taking away from what I’ve already got.
“It feels like a long time since I won the Midlands title and had a 10-rounder.
“Once I’ve proven myself, there will be bigger opportunities to come, I need to push myself in there.”
The Droitwich boxer decided to turn professional following a successful career as an amateur fighter.
O’Toole is also a mum to two-year-old Michael and insists all mothers can still chase their dreams after becoming a parent as she attempts to claim a world title in the professional ranks.
O’Toole said: “I’ve noticed a lot of women I’ve spoken to lately asking me ‘how do you do it all?’
“I want to say to any women who have children that they can still chase their dreams.
“My goal is to be a world champion but since I’ve had Michael it’s a lot more than that.
“It’s not instead of, it’s on top of, no matter what sport, you can still have a career.
“If you want something badly enough nothing is impossible, your dreams don’t stop with having a child, it’s part of who I am.”
