HEAD coach Dan Protherough is confident his on-fire back-line will cause Hinckley havoc when Bromsgrove face their promotion rivals at Finstall Park tomorrow (Saturday).
Potent wings Tom Hunt and Dave Lewis have been scoring for fun in recent weeks as Bromsgrove continue to impress in National Three Midlands.
Protherough said the pair have played an important part in the club’s seven match winning run, which has seen them move up second, and he hopes they will be the difference again this weekend.
However, the Bromsgrove boss said he was expecting a physical battle against the Leicestershire outfit who have won six out of their last seven league games.
“We beat them quite comfortably at their place, but that was very much out of character to what they had done since then,” he said.
“I think they have only lost one game since we beat them and they have dished out some thumpings, so it is going to be a really tough game.
“They are really organised with a big forward pack, so we will need to stretch them. We will also need to match them physically and make sure we don’t miss any tackles. If we can do that then we should have a very good chance of winning the game as I believe we have got enough fire power to beat anyone in the league.”
Another victory for Bromsgrove could see them move further clear in second spot as Nuneaton and Peterborough Lions both face difficult away ties against Scunthorpe and Sutton Coldfield respectively. But Protherough, who is set to be without Richard Mahoney and Sam Montieri on Saturday, insisted there was still a long way to go in the season.
“The league is very tight at the moment,” he said. “I don’t think anyone will be able to catch South Leicester as they are that far ahead, so you have got four or five teams fighting it out for second place.
“We have still got the top eight teams to play as we have played the bottom four so it is going to be tough. But you can only focus on the next game and try and win it.”
