Christmas number one Barley Mow top the Droitwich Pool League charts

BARLEY Mow take a nine-point lead at the top of the Mid-West Premiership into the New Year after seeing off Never in Salted 5-4 in the Droitwich Pool League.

The league leaders, sitting on 114 points, defeated their third-placed opponents to ensure they will be Christmas number one this year.

Title rivals Masons Chalked Up remain hot on their tails, though, after winning the last frame to seal a 5-4 victory against The Dovey.

The Doverdale Arms remain fifth after a 6-3 win against The Star & Garter, who lie tenth.

Lowly Rifle No Mans were no match for The Pillar of Dreams, going down 7-2 in the biggest win of the night.

In-form DWMC recorded a fourth successive victory against The Hop Pole, running out 6-3 winners, while Wessie Wanderers ousted bottom side The Pillar of Salt 5-4 to rise one place into 11th.

Ten sides are in cup action next week prior to a two-week break in action.

Four matches take place in the Tim Radley Winter Cup, including the stand-out fixture between Masons Chalked Up and DWMC, The Pillar of Dreams meet The Dovey in the sole Paul Fletcher Winter Shadow Cup match-up.
