DROITWICH Spa Cricket Club have entered the Sunday Border Cricket League and will kick-off their campaign with new skipper Joe Heywood at the helm on June 4 this summer.
Spa are one of 10 teams already signed up for the 2023 competition although more clubs are expected to be confirmed at the league’s AGM next month.
The hope is that teams will play 15 fixtures consisting of 40 overs per side through to September 10.
Already confirmed teams include reigning champions Lye Warriors along with Amblecote and Wollaston, Black Country Health Gladiators, Enville, Netherton, Springhill, Springvale, Stourbridge and Wightwick and Finchfield.
In preparation of their return to competitive Sunday cricket, Spa will warm up with seven friendly matches, the first of which will be played on April 16.
