DROITWICH Cycling Club began their 2022 Time Trial (TT) series at the challenging local 10-mile circuit around Himbleton earlier this week.
Jacob Tipper of the Ribble-Weldtite team took the win in 22 minutes 51 seconds with Dave Meacham (Stourbridge CC) second in 23 mins 36 secs and Ian Hunt (Droitwich CC) third in 25 mins 8 secs.
Droitwich CC’s Marcus Bufton was the first road bike home in a time of 25 mins 58 secs.
The TT attracted a varied group, ranging from a continental pro, to experienced local time triallists and road bike riders from Droitwich CC and other local clubs.
Gusty winds and short, sharp hills towards the finish made the course a real test.
The club run time trials once a fortnight which are a great opportunity for cyclists to test themselves against the clock in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
