DFC avoid relegation

Droitwich Editorial 24th Apr, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

FOOTBALL: DROITWICH Spa FC have avoided relegation from the Midland Combination Division One following a string of good results in April.

These included two wins over the Easter weekend including a 5-3 win against West Midlands Police on Saturday and a 2-1 one over local rivals Fairfield Villa as well as victory on Wednesday as they beat high-flyers Sutton United 3-2.

That leaves them six points clear of closest rivals FC Blades Sporting, who they play on Tuesday, one of their two games remaining the other against champions Cadbury at home.

Spa also have two cup finals to look forward to in next month the Worcestershire County Cup against Alvechurch Reserves on May 8 and the Evesham Hospital Cup Final against Badsey Rangers possibly on May 15.
