DROITWICH brothers Scott and Luke Newell and Bromsgrove’s Cameron Green walked away with a silver medal at the Malcom Gee four-piece competition.

Hosted by All Starz Gymnastics Club, Worcestershire Gymnastics Club sent nine teams to compete at the event with many performing in the novice section as seven of the nine came from WGA’s recreational squad as the first squad are all preparing for other competitions.

On the day, WGA won five golds, two team silvers – one of which was won by the Newell brothers and Green in the 13-and-under Intermediate Boys race – and one team bronze along the novice under-nines finishing in a respectable fifth place in their first out-of-club competition.

It was a fantastic day as more than 50 teams from four clubs competed for medals in several age and ability categories on the floor, vault, trampette and bars, with the top three scores counting.
